Corey Campbell is the Creative Director of the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry. He previously served as Co-Artistic Director, leading the theatre’s producing programme for Coventry’s year as UK City of Culture in 2021. Campbell is also the Artistic Director of Strictly Arts Theatre Company, known for productions such as Green Leaves Fall and the critically acclaimed, Edinburgh sell-out show Freeman. His work is characterised by a collaborative, devising process that brings real stories to the stage, with a particular focus on African and Caribbean communities.

Campbell’s flagship project for the City of Culture year was SeaView, a digital TV series rooted in the experiences of Black, working-class communities in the West Midlands. He is recognised for his commitment to community engagement, diversity, and developing new talent, and has been instrumental in building long-lasting relationships with audiences through targeted outreach and workshop programmes. Campbell is also an Honorary Member of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and is regarded as an innovative leader in the UK theatre sector, dedicated to driving positive change and greater diversity in the arts.
